Can anyone identify these birds i photographed the other day
Discussion
Checked pics of oystercatcher in my bird book, they seems to have quite long beaks, the bird i saw had a little beak and all the area around its head was mostly white??Oystercatchers heads seem to be all black? At least that's one ticked off the list.Size wise it was quite small, similar in build/proportion to a pied wagtail.Which is what i thought it was till it stood still!

The top two are probably willow warblers, although if you're sure they were both different then one will be a chiffchaff, they look very similar.
The bottom one is a pied wagtail.
Thanks for that.On the pied wagtail I know them really well! In fact I took a pic of one 5 minutes after this and they're completely different. The one in the pic had a really white head with a black patch on its throat. It didnt have as stripey wings as a wagtail? The bottom one is a pied wagtail.

Have a look at a pic of a white wagtail. It's very similar to the pied but is paler with less black.
Im so used to seeing the same type of pied wagtail all the time this different wagtail just threw me, never seen one before, Think it could be that! Sorry for doubting it!;-)knotweed said:

Agree. Easiest way to tell is the song. A chiffchaff is onomatopoeic and a willow warbler has a descending crescendo of notes. Though I do think the top one is a chiffchaff - think its the colour, and possibly the leg colour tooThe bottom one is a pied wagtail.
