I think we can safely say that Gareth Bale is without doubt the best player & the most valuable asset the premier league has, his fellow pro's & the football writers voted him by far & away the best this year, so how much is he realistically worth 40, 50, 60, some say even 80 million pounds . Zidane is a huge fan & say's that there is no player that Madrid cannot afford , my guess is that other than the Russians only &7 teams could afford him, Chelsea , Arsenal , City, PSG & the two big spanish clubs & possibly Munich.

Just how much is he worth if Levy decided to cash in

60 million at the most would be my guestimation.

Ronaldo was worth 80 million as he was a marquee signing with medals and honours to his name (one ballon D'or no less)

Bale hasn't got that, and if Real do sign him I very much doubt 80 thousand people will pack into the Bernabau to greet him.

As you say his the best player in the Prem at the moment, and it would be a shame for him to leave for another league. If he does leave I hope he stay in the Prem.

I predict he will go to United for around £35 million plus Nani.

You'd think he must be earning enough by now to have his ears pinned back.

If we take Ronaldo out of the equation, the second highest transfer fee was for Kaka to Real, about 54 million £ or 65 million Euro.

Bale has nowhere near the profile, status, marketability, very very limited experience at the highest level, not as talented, higher perceived risk as less proven, coming from a much smaller club than AC Milan, and there will be less clubs in for him than there was for Kaka.

So in in other words, he won't go for anything close to the figures being mentioned. That's pure fantasy.

I would say £40 million.

There aren't that many teams that would even seriously consider him at that price. I'm still not convinced anyone outside the PL would buy him for that sort of money. City/Man Utd- possibly.

Does anybody really think he wants to play abroad?

If he does it will increase his value but I can't see it myself. He'll stay in the UK and nobody will pay more than £35-40 million for him. Tops.

Depends how you compare it. If Torres is worth £50m, then Bale is worth about £270 billion. But if Ronaldo went for £80m, then £60m is about right.

Doesn't sound unreasonable... I'd say £40m or abit less but anything more than 50 I'd be a bit shocked.

Depends on whether Bale wants to leave or not.....which from whatever you read depends on whether Spurs qualify for the CL. If Bale wants to leave and there really is a get out clause in his contract if Spurs don't qualify for CL then they'll do well to get £40mil for him. If they qualify I reckon it'll have to be £60mil plus.....Levy turned down £40mil for Modric from Chelsea didn't he?

He's undoubtedly a very special talent and he can pick his destination. One thing is for sure his agent already knows what the options are and I suspect Bale already knows what he wants to do if Spurs don't qualify for the CL.

I reckon Man U will be the destination if he has got the get out clause...if not Spain or Germany.

IMO, probably somewhere around 35-40mil. He's had a very good season, he's young and got all the attributes for a top player. But as mentioned, players like Kaka and Ronaldo who'd won the CL and lots of other world recognised awards went for 56 and 80 million.

I think it also boils down to how much Spurs are prepared to accept and how long Bale wants to stay for. He seems settled and has a nipper too, so that may help Spurs case, but there will come a point where he'll want to be competing to win CL's and PL titles. Its fairly unlikely he'll be able to achieve that at Spurs.

Spurs were pretty awful today but one moment of brilliance changes the game & maybe the future of your football club .

That my fellow chums is why his lad is worth in access of £80m.

He should bottle up his semen , I'm sure there would be plenty of buyers

He has never won anything and he has never played for a big club. You can't compare him to Kaka,Ronaldo and Zidane because they had already won major trophys and were transferred between European heavyweights.

He is a great player and could go on to be as good as the players mentioned but I think if Madrid want him, they will get him for between 30 and 40 million.
