Best place/way to get 7000 euros cash?

We are getting married in Italy August this year, we need to pay some of our bill in cash.

Does anyone have any advice of how to best do this?

Can we just go into a bank and ask for 7000 euros in cash? is there a better way to maximise the exchange rate?

Exchange rate is negotiable to a degree (I didn't realise until last year). I think for that many it's probably worth it. We just first went to bank, then several high street places and each one upped their offer.
Might be worth a crack.

As long as the establishment is pre-warned (once you've shopped around) they should be able to honour €7000 without any problems. So shop around, give them a few days notice and go and collect (probably with ID for money laundering legislation)
