Weekend Getaway options - R&R needed!!
Discussion
Afternoon all,
Looking for ideas on where I can go over a weekend/three days to get away from the stresses of modern life - any advice/opinions/options are much appreciated!
I hand in my final project at uni soon (mature PT student, working full time before anyone starts!!) and would be looking to get away the following weekend as a temporary bolster to my sanity until I can get away on a proper break!!
Sun, sand and not being within easy telecoms range would be a good start to any suggestions.
I'm based in the South East if that makes any difference and would be looking to travel alone.
Thanks in advance!

^^^^^ This I was also going to suggest Jersey - get the fast boat from Poole with your car or fly from Southampton or Gatwick - if flying beware fog at Guernsey airport can have a big impact on flights - less so at Jersey. Great beaches, nice restaurants, good walking, lots of hotel choice.
I would also suggest Guernsey or Jersey.
I know Guernsey quite well and its a lovely place to relax.
Take a trip to Herm, only a short ferry ride from St Peters Port.
Walks along the cliffs, visit the WW2 bunkers, German Underground hospital, walks along the great beaches, sea fishing, try out the great restaurants, crab meat at Fermain Bay beach cafe yum yum!

Book your motor on the Eurostar, and drive to Bruges for a long weekend. We just did it, very relaxing. And a bonus if you like beer.
+1Or for maximum relaxation, stay in UK in a nice luxurious spa hotel : New Forest for example?
Our favourite places for R&R is Lake District, New Forest and Cornwall.
