My V8V is in for MOT in an hour.
Just realised it doesn't have the puncture repair kit on board as I used it before Christmas and haven't replaced the bottle...
Is this an MOT failure, of only if its present and non usable?

As far as I'm aware it isn't an MOT failure to NOT have a spare wheel. It's only a failure if its not a legal tyre on the spare...

So, if I leave the repair kit out, it should be ok?

Mine passed with a repair kit that had expired two years ago and so which was probably useless. Not sure but I think you should be OK.

sailed through.

no advisories (as such) other than oil filter could do with a change as it's getting rusty.

oh and the clutch!
but i knew that already!

Rusty! in a year, or is a modern Aston serviced only on mileage, which could mean it would take a lot of Astons 5 years to rack up the mileage. i think I would be changing the oil and filter annually. More so if I wasn’t doing many miles. Rusty, come on Steve what’s that all about?

From memory I don't think the oil was done on the last service in September...?
It's very unlike me to not have it done annually at least.
Glad the chap said about it otherwise it'd been left till Sept '13.

Weird place to accrue rust? The filters are changed every service I believe and they're normally plated / anodised or the like too I thought.

Check your invoice, Steve, it should have a line saying 10 litres of oil @ approximately £25 per litre wink
