From next Monday I will be working 5 days a week in Cambridge for 4-5 weeks staying over 1-2 nights a week.
I don't really like staying in large chain hotels so I am looking for recommendations for small independent hotels/guest houses/B&B's that have good wifi (for skyping) and ensuite.

Preferably the A14 side and I don't mind upto 5-6 miles out as I can cycle in.
Office is next to station.

Thanks

Puggit

I stayed in the Premier Inn next to the station last week - the big plus for me was the leisure site next door with restaurants/bars/shops/cinema...

However, like you I do prefer the smaller, independent places!

Rectory Farm on Madingley Road looks lovely, though I've not stayed there. Other side of town to the train station but close to the park and ride or an easy cycle.

Premier Inn is an option if I can't find anywhere else.

Rectory Farm does look nice and not too bad value at £65 a night although that doesn't include breakfast. Good reviews on Laterooms.

Thanks

A group of six of us (three couples)stayed here for three days in 2012 on an extended visit to Cambridge. Excellent choice we thought. Not too far to the Park and Ride (Cambridge parking is a nightmare) and if you fancy it cycling to central Cambridge is flat for almost the entire journey.

Thanks GTIR and The Leaper.

Wrong side (east) for one and the other is a little further south and out of Cambridge than I would have liked.

I know :-)

From bitter experience working in both Norwich and Sheffield I know what difference it can make to journey time just being a mile or 2 the "wrong" side of a city.

It's Cambridge!

It takes 15 mins by bike from there to the station. I know because I used to live there.
