Removing a Section of Armourfend ?

New to this particular forum and was wondering if the bodywork experts out there could offer some advice.
A wheel arch section of Armourfend or similar (not sure of brand as it was already applied to car by previous owner when I bought it 6 years ago) is lifting and looking a mess, and I was wondering what is involved in replacing this section. Is it DIY'able...can it be removed with a heat gun? And is it possible to purchase just a single wheel arch section to re-fit myself.
It has been like this since I bought the car back in '07 and it's now starting to get on my nerves!
