A 'Thank You' to the Vets thread
Discussion
Here's a thread wher we can thank the vets for all their good work and keeping our furry friends well.
I'll start with thanking them at our local vets:
Took Kat in early last week with suspected Cystistis, something he's had before and easily cured of, but the tablets didn't seem to be working when we took him in a couple of days later. The vet had a look at him and decided to keep him in for tests on his kidneys.
Got a call back a couple of hours later, saying the tests were bad and to expect the worst, but they would keep him on a drip and flush the kidneys overnight. We didn't think we'd ever see him again. Thursday was a horrible evening.
Got a call first thing saying the flush had worked well, and they were going to operate for a urinary blockage removal, I asked what the chances were fearing the worst, but she was quite positive.
Various calls over the weekend were made to us, then on Monday he came back in his box quite wobbly after his experience and some cat valium.
On a bit of a special diet now of prescription food, and now he seems much, much better and it's great to see his bright eyes and upright tail again.
So thank you.

Our vet is quite well paid. But they have unblocked scraggy twice, they handle all his insurance claims without fuss, make sure he's on the right drugs, they are open 24x7 for emergencies which helped Alan and his rat bite, and they fight to the bitter/happy end for every broken animal strangers bring in without question.
So I agree. To the vets. We thank you for learning to do what we can't to care for our loved critters.
