So to bring this up date after a couple of years, I sold my 4.3 via SoR to Aston Edinburgh in February 2014, however quickly realised the error of my ways. However I wanted to wait for the right car, rather than jump back in.
Keeping in touch with Rodger and Stuart at AM Edinburgh, I looked at various things over the second half of 2014, before getting the heads up about a new black V8 coupe back in January. A deal was done and I collected the car, anticipating I'd keep it for a while.
However.... Helping a friend purchase a Rapide, again through AM Edinburgh, I discovered they had a new cobalt blue V8 in the showroom Now, ever since the launch of the V8S, I'd loved cobalt blue and how it accentuates the lines of the V8. A few conversations with Rodger over the course of the past two weeks, saw me pick up the cobalt car earlier today.
In summary, I've gone from a great black V8 to an awesome blue V8, and gained a few more toys and some more noise.
Many thanks to Chris, Rodger, Stuart and Blair at AM Edinburgh (no connection other than an e trembly satisfied customer). While it had taken me 40-something years to get my first Aston, I didn't ever anticipate my next two new ones coming within 9-weeks of each other. Don't ask how long I plan to keep this one though.
The old (if 9-weeks can be considered old):
And the new (taken with the snow falling this evening):

Was that the car that was sat in the middle of the upper showroom two weeks ago? If it was I had a little sit in it and it was indeed stunning, one of the nicest looking V8V's I've seen. Moving back home to Fife full time in two weeks after 15 years barely being there, hopefully I'll spot you on a road somewhere!
Thank you all for the kind words, I've certainly no plans to change this on quite so suddenly (although the usual caveat regarding a V12V of any flavour will apply here).
I couldn't have managed the quick change without both the support from my good lady, nor the encouragement, man-maths and financial wizardry of the sales team and management at AM Edinburgh.
I'm now off to spend Easter looking for a suitable photo opportunity for the Non-black-non-grey-non-silver thread.

Woollie - I think N400 wheels and sills along with a 6-bar grille will be my first changes.
Derek congratulations in a very pretty car, glad you held out for the right car - good times ahead Reference your plans above, keep firm and set your financial boundaries for improvements from the beginning, it's all a slippy road from here - trust me, others will vouch for my excesses
IMHO the basics for early Vanatge are modernised wheels (wider J's so the wheels grip better and also reach near the outside of the wheel arches) - All the rest is personal wants and not a necessity, the car is beautiful as it is... Oh maybe some nice BR Downpipes, large 200 Cell Cats and an exhaust switch - these to manage the lack of grunt below 4000k.
Adam your car is metallic green buddy ???
