Bmw 1M prices holding strong!

Hi folks,
I'm new to the forums but have been a "Spectator" according to social technographics ladder for many years on pistonheads .
I have been watching the prices of the Bmw 1M for the last 6 months and truth be told ,these cars are just getting more expensive every time I look. I'm am desperate for one now and can only envy those who bought them brand new.
Fingers crossed I will find one with the right spec and at the right price soon so I can join the club.

Hexagon prices are indeed eye watering.
The thing is though, they do shift them and don't seem to mind playing a waiting game.
I adore CSLs, but could not really justify a garage queen, as much as I've tried to convince myself I could!
I never see any on the roads!
A couple of 1Ms at my local dealer are not shifting fast at all (one is an orange press car, nuff said!)

Indeed, a garage queen CSL is such a waste, they are truly epic drivers cars. I bought one with 50k, full BMWSH and warranty with the intention of driving it and enjoying it.

Tested a 1M a couple of weeks ago before buying an E92 M3.
If it were the only performance car you have access to then I could see an argument for the 1M but otherwise I find the M3 has a far wider range of abilities and a better exhaust note. That said, the 1M is a great car. The dealers don't seem keen to shift at all on price, and the one I was talking to had two orange ones. I had the same experience with a different dealership 18 months ago.

Yup, they're privately owned which is pretty unusual for a BMW dealer these days. The thing is though, they do shift them and don't seem to mind playing a waiting game.
Means they can keep cars for as long as they want unlike almost all other BMW dealers who have to sell car after 90 days as they are part of big dealer groups.
As much as I love the 1M, I really can't see it lasting at these crazy prices. It currently holds a niche as a winning combo of fast/ modern/ driver-oriented/ luxury and, crucially, SMALL car available, and I love it. But what about when there's a new shape 1M? Will it hold its price then? I can't see it, I'm waiting for the prices to plummet.

I think it will still hold its value well as there are only 450 UK models and most owners seem to be hanging on to them. There won't be another 1M as the next one will be the M2According to 'how many left' there are only 403 in the UK,licenced or SORN, and the most there have ever been were 414. Obviously this number is only going to go down, so prices should decline steadily up to a point( maybe £20/25k) before they starting heading up again. Either way, I'm enjoying my car to the max and whatever happens, happens
The CSL had the exact same talk when it came out and the prices after the initial drop have been rock solid (rising)
For me the 1M is going to be a future classic (like the E46 CSL) providing you keep the miles right and its condition.
People tried to compare the 1M to the Z4M when It came to numbers available but anyone who has owned or driven the 1M knows they are not even in the same league.
That aside I don’t care what the price drops too, the drive and everyday usability makes it a keeper for me.
I actually enjoy driving the 1M as much as my R8 V10 Spyder and i would go as far as saying it is more fun and just capable and lets not forget its stuninmg wide @rse.

Just sold mine to a dealer for £2500 more than they offered me 4 months ago.
Very sad to see it go. Could be the best car I will ever drive. Had such a great time with it.

I agree. 18 months in and I still love it. There is nothing else out there (without having to pay through the nose) that I'd be happy swapping it for.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
