Forester aftermarket DAB stereo

Just took my car to my local garage to have an aftermarket DAB stereo installed. It's a 2005 2.0 XT, and as far as I know it needs no facia adapter to fit the new stereo. They rang me up to say that they couldn't fit it, as it looks too large for the opening once the original is removed. So having looked at some websites, I've decided to try and do it myself. Can I use the original single din pocket that sits under the stereo - will it unbolt from the brackets like the O.E stereo? I already have the harness adapter. Ideally it wants to look like this.
