I wasn't sure where to post these pics so thought I'd just start a thread, apologies if a similar one exists.. I know there is one somewhere of Lambos and Ferraris that have been left to collect dust.

When working out in Qatar last month I went for a fairly lengthy wonder to take some pics and perhaps wondered into an area I probably shouldn't have been in. I happened to stumble upon this bunch of parked up Merc 560 SEL's and one lonely early 80s 7 Series BMW (745i I think)

On closer inspection they appeared to have government stickers on them and bullet proof windows, I could be wrong about the windows but if they belonged to the Heads of State it wouldn't surprise me. Cant really tell you much more.. just looked like they were in pretty good condition and seemed such a waste.

Oh, and opposite them were all their brand new top-of-the-range equivalents, which were clean and shiny and not as interesting so I didnt bother taking photos..

Anyone else come across interesting cars that seem to have been dumped...?

The CH would suggest they are Swiss, so maybe ex-embassy cars with no real value apart from a novelty factor.

Nice photos, look like forgotten get-away cars...

A dumped truck was rescued and used at the local War and Peace show, made a nice background for my photos!

Can anyone name the truck?

Yup 120Y in deed.

The Merc in the middle on the 1st picture didn't have bullet proof windows, the heated rear's smashed;)

That is amazing to see all those abandoned Jap cars just left in situ prior to the event.

There is or was something similar in Cyprus. Abandoned cars in the DMZ or whatever the UN green line is caloed. Never seen any pictures of it, but I was told there were car dealerships with 1974 spec new cars just sitting covered in dust with flat tyres.

Also a place there called Varosha, more a 28 Days later abandoned town rather than full of cars.

I've not been there since 1992, so it's probably all changed.

One of my friends had an acquaintance park his Aston Martin dbs on his land after a minor crash. It's been there for so many years it's got a bush growing through it, damp has got in, and it's rotting from the inside out. The owner doesn't seem particularly bothered :-(
