I'm in Rhyl for work next week, any unmissable roads in the area for an after-work hoon? Isn't Evo triangle nearby?

Also any entertaining routes up there to avoid the mind-numbingly boring motorway slog up from the south-east? Route planners generally coming up with M25/M1/M6/M56.

Well that's an excellent bit of help there. Funny how not so long ago you were enquiring about the run outs that John used to arrange round our great roads.
Guessing you're from the Cheshire / Wirral region where people constantly slate Wales yet can't stay away from the place the second there's a hint of sunshine. rolleyes

To the op there's plenty of great drives not too far away from where you're heading. If you want some speciffic routes drop me an e-mail and I'll give you details of some good drives. Also, if it's S.Wales you mean you're coming from then there's some teriffic routes to cover avoiding the motorways, which incidently are far more direct and quicker too. smile

Actually RWA441 you are are dead right, some lovely roads to drive and beautiful scenery to admire and great beaches to play on and some wonderful water to dive in, its the strange people who live there that spoils everything, and yes I am from Cheshire and I own a beautiful cottage over there in a well known location.
Its the tourist trade that keeps certain places alive, its time the strange people appreciated that fact wink
enough said !!
oh and there is the welsh police attitude to motorists to consider.
PS it doesn't have to be sunny we go all year round, rain / shine / snow whatever.

Haha!!!
Strange people, brilliant! Whilst I agree there are plenty of them, it's a very well known fact there are 'strange' people everywhere. I work in Cheshire so encounter plenty of them.
Funny thing is now though, all the tourist areas of North Wales are inhabited mainly by people from Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester and even further afield. Even my parents were originally from England until they moved to a far nicer place over here many years ago. Luckily though they didn't 'walk into a pub/shop etc and everyone suddenly started to speak Welsh' wink They were welcomed from day 1 and have enjoyed 40+ years being a big part of the comunity.
I think the phrase 'some spoil it for others' springs to mind when it comes to tourists. Just look at how Brits have destroyed countries abroad, anyway, enough about that, tell the OP where the good roads are starting with the one out of Rhyl wink
