People who cannot look past the age of a car.

I'm currently looking for a car that is about 4 years older than mine currently (currently have a 58 car) and everybody who knows i'm looking is saying "why are you going to an older car?" "surely it'll break down all the time" "it's got HOW many miles?" "yours is newer, that's the better one" and so on.

It's not a fcccking better car, because one is a small capacity turbo car, and one's a fccking hot hatch!
I may be going from a 58 to a 54(ish) but it has much more power, more refined, better to drive, bigger, similar equipment and is a better car, which is why it cost £20k new in 2004, rather than £13k in 2008 -.-

The more i'm exposed to them, the less I like non-car people.

There used to be a used car dealer near me that removed all the plates from their used cars, they valeted them and detailed them and the customer was left to make their minds up on what cars they liked, many of the cars they sold were Older than the customer thought, but the customer was happy as they had a really clean car. It was as simple as "well that car has lower mileage and looks better than that one" The correct plates were then put back on the car at point of sale.

That's quite a good idea actually! Then you're buying on condition, rather than what the nose says how old the car is.

It's why the Motor Trade lobbied so hard to keep age-related plates each time the format changed, and also why it lobbied so hard for the age designator to change every 6 months. Because people buy on age.

I think that's an encryption or compression thing - mine finds it on a channel search, then refuses to display it as it's not compatible with my old tuner.

I was having some food in a country pub in windsor/ascot on Saturday night. As you can imagine, lots of super cars drove past at various speeds and volumes.

I couldn't get over how st they all sounded when changing gear. Farting like a donkey with ibs.

Really wasn't impressed at all.

More to the point, mobile cranes driven on motorways during the rush hour.
Do us a favour, if you have to get to your building site or wherever do it during the night when the roads are quiet.
Don't be selfish s causing miles of slow traffic.
I feel better for that.

I know this won't make many friends, but quite often (not every time, I admit) they are forced to travel to their sites at that time - the site management expressly forbid the cranes to turn up early, or they won't be allowed on site and will have to sit outside blocking the roads, sitting outside someone's house, or find somewhere to wait.

(I also get caught behind them, and it is frustrating, but there are often genuine reasons for it).

I will also expand that to Tractors. Hey it's 5pm lets have a 3 tractor convoy with 20 cars following. Shall we pull in here and let them pass? Nah, lets piss everyone off for the next 20 miles.

And I bet 90% have no MOT, TAX or insurance going by the state of them.

I'd love it if tractors/cranes/slow vehicles travelled in convoy! Unfortunately, on the A3 (most days), I get stuck in slow moving traffic when passing on of the above in the left lane. We pass, the 'sub 55mph' brigade pull back into lane 1 and lane 2 picks up speed and just as we get up to 70+ mph we hit another jam! This happens up to 3 times in a 10-mile stretch and, invariably, all the vehicles involved are from the same company/farm! If they stuck together there would only be one hold up!

McVities. Misleading claims.

Just had a McVities Penguin with my coffee (I included the McVities tag to stop the usual PH puerility)- the packet claimed NEW BIGGER BARS. What it didn't claim was ONLY 8 BARS NOW INSTEAD OF 9. So no doubt there is actually less biscuit in weight in the packet.

Have to say, though, the chocolate covering was 1st class, and the filling seemed creamier than before. Tasty.
Still doesn't stop me being angry though. Not liars per se, just economical with the truth.

Has anyone yet claimed stupid bloody clothing manufacturers failing to agree on common sizing between them?

I ordered a couple of mountain bike tops online which turned up this morning. Both were size XL. I've just filled out a returns form to return one for a size L and the other for an XXL!

I know what you mean! In Superdry the T-Shirts won't touch me but the hoodies are XXL, whereas in something like SoulCal I'm an L.

It's a roasting hot day, the house is well insulted, I can guarantee you 100% the wife will have opened all the windows and doors as it's a hot day. Thus letting all the nice cool air out and all the hot air in.

I can also guarantee that tonight when the air has cooled outside she will be shutting all the doors and windows I leave open thus trapping in the hot air and not allowing the cool night air in.

It doesn't matter how much I tell her, she will do this. It's basic bloody physics. Insulation is not just about keeping the house warm in winter ( she can grasp that ), it also keeps it cool in summer ( she cannot grasp this )
