I was annoyed yesterday by the BBC News reporter at Wimbledon doing a piece about the heat - and telling us it was over 42degrees on Centre Court already IN THE SUNSHINE using the 'official' thermometer.

Why are these people so dumb? How do they get on TV?
The quality of TV interviewing is at an all-time low. Richard Dimbleby they are not. It's the banality of their questions that make me kick my telly - things like chatting to a sportsman/woman after a win and all they can come up with is " how are you feeling after that win?" WTF do you think their answer's going to be , you halfwit? What's the point in them being there if that's all they can think to say?
I would like to see a sports interview without using the word 'pressure'.

This sign annoys me when ever I see it. I get the bridge but why is the water not flat?

Media types based in the south going on about the heatwave. A few things on this.

1. The whole of the UK doesn't have this brilliant weather, so stop going on about it in every programme and news report.

2. It's a story only worth about 10 seconds of news time not the over dramatising that some have made it.

3. The cringeworthy report on Radio 5 when they sent a reporter out into the streets. First he asks a Sky engineer what it's like working in the heat, then he asks someone getting off a bus "So what was it like travelling on the bus in these temperatures?". The woman replies "Hot". What sort of answer was he really expecting?

4. It's summer so it stands to reason that some parts of the UK will get good weather over that period, yet news reporters seemed to be utterly surprised when it happens. I could see the point if it was December!

No, but the important part of England the UK does, so everyone, even the yokels, should be interested.

I but non-ron formal shirts for work, cos they're bloody good these days, and so much better than ironing.

However, they all seem to shrink a bit after a little while, most noticeably in the sleeves, which can be annoying.

Much, much more annoying however, is the one I accidentally bought slightly too big, and too long in the arms. Didn't bother returning it as I thought 'it'll shrink, just like all the rest, and fit just right'.

Did it shrink? Did it fk. Grrr.

I just thought there is normally more water in the middle of the river and therefore that would be heavier causing it to sink a bit? biggrin

Er no!
Water floats so if anything the bit in the middle will be higher.
