I watched it. I'm convinced that was set up. She was completely off the rails!

I initially thought set up but you could see it in her eyes she was psychotic, the bit with her husband shouting "you fking pay, you fking pay" at the young bloke was funny, "pay for what?? We haven't eaten anything!"

It was spectacular viewing. If they are for real then I am astonished that they are still in business.

That is exactly what I thought but if I was ever in the area I would be very tempted to visit just to see if it kicked off, maybe complain about my pizza being soggy laugh

I think a lot of people have been going since the original broadcast last month. Apparently the owners have been questioning customers why they are visiting, suspecting that they are only there because of the show.

Nutters! Felt sorry for the staff who were having their tips (the source of income for waiters in America) robbed!

I really hope that place fails. Not a nice thing to say but those two don't deserve to succeed after the way they treat people

The restaurant has now closed apparently. You should have seen the stuff they were writing on Facebook. Absolute nutters.

What kind of person starts a slagging match vs the whole internet. What were they expecting?

If it was set up, they certainly did a good job of getting into character when they absolutely obliterated any shred of respect their customers may have had for them on Facebook, raving about God being on their side, eveyone else being total s etc.

Their Facebook page gained tens of thousands of 'likes' overnight, people just wanting to see them crash and burn

Kitchen Nightmares USA - I always thought this felt like one of the most staged shows on TV. Compared to the original UK one it always felt so over the top, and every episode I saw followed exactly the same formula. Thsi episode sounds interesting though...

The weird thing is, she was obviously a cracking good pastry chef. Why the hell don't they just open a cake shop ?

Completely agree with your opinion of the USA show, but rest assured this episode is definitely worth a watch smile

From reading the interweb storm after the show was first aired I thought it transpired that all the cakes were actually bought in and not made be her at all.

I am not a huge fan of the show normally feeling it is all pretty contrived but this was something else, could not take my eyes off it.

We hear of 'the mental' here on PH but this lass was off the chart Psycho, bet she bangs like a barn door in a storm tho laugh

Ah, that answers a lot. I didn't bother to read the reports. I'm still wondering why they were getting bookings when the whole town must have known their food was crap. I suspect the "diners" when GR was there were actually actors arranged for the show.

I think generally a community hears GR is visiting to do his show and the restaurant gets swamped with bookings from locals wanting to be seen on the tv.
