Kind gentlemen of the detailing world,

I'm in the process of rally prepping my old Porsche 944. I've just made a start on stripping out the interior and the under bonnet sound insulation. As the photos show below I've been left with a LOT of glue.

In the first photo I'm just scraping off the foam which was beginning to disintegrate. The second photo shows what remained. On the far left section I gave it a good dose of WD40 which I hoped would break down the glue. It kind of worked but I'm looking for a miracle cure here!

Any advice on getting this stuff off?

Fit a fibreglass bonnet if your regs allow.

Tar and Glue remover may do it.

Or if you have to use a metal bonnet try one of the breakers as not all 944's had this under bonnet foam, my turbo certainly didn't.

Pre 83/84 had sound insulation, deleted after that for all models.
