just about to by a boxster
Discussion
How will I know if the rear main seal is weeping? Will it have water in the boot or should I be looking for more than that. I would like to ask members if they will take a look at 2 cars that im thinking of buying and give me some feedback on them. One is for sale on this website a yellow one on page 4 on the boxsters for sale page .the other one is at www.fow.co.uk and is the aqua green. Thank you .the last thing I want to do is buy the wrong boxster that will cost me a fortune to fix .so all your help will be very much appreciated.
The rear main seal is the bit in between the crank and the gearbox i think, or summink like that.
You should get an independant inspection of this, or it could cost you upto £1000.
As for the cars, I see your looking around the £20k mark ??
If you were looking at that green one, then, my advice is don't touch it with a barge pole, that colour will be a nightmare to sell on.
The yellow one looks awesome, I had a Boxster S in that colour a few years ago, and it suites the car to a 't', and looks great with the bodykit and wheels.
If there was anyway you could stretch your budget, it would be worthwhile going for the 2.7, as it is noticably quicker.
Having said that, there was an 'S' on page 3 for under £24k i think.
