Out of interest is a decat legal and what's the fine if you are caught? Is it a case of having the cats put back on just for the MOT?

Its an MOT failure if the tester realises they have been removed
Though spotting that is hard as most the underside is covered metal plates
The Primary cats are normally enough to pass the emissions test

It might also be worth pointing out that the V12 has two sets of cats. Therefore it is possible to remove one set (ie the decat mentioned above) without causing emissions warning lights to come on.

This isn't possible with the single set of cats on the V8V. 200 cell cats is the route to go down.

Love to see them on the car mate, I've fitted: wing mirrors, rear light inserts, rear diffuser, kamm tail spoiler, front splitter.
Exterior handles & strakes being fitted shortly. smile

Today I have been playing fuel light roulette. It's always disconcerting when even the OBC decides to abandon all hope. hehe

Took part in a very wet track day at Snetterton. Had a couple of sessions with MSV instructor Paul Mather and learnt more about the car in 1 hr then I had in the past two years of ownership.

Why would you do that?

Yeah, not a polisher myself either but I wouldn't risk either running out or clogging up my fuel filter with rubbish in the bottom of the tank just because I can.

The pick-up for the fuel pump is at the bottom of the tank so that negligible potential danger is always there. I think, perhaps, you're taking this a little too seriously. But I'm touched you're concerned about the health of my old shed and can assure you it is in fine fettle.

Because it is an excellent test of ones calculation skills - don't all guys do this, I do!
