I dont think you can mention it too many times, just got car back from Bridge Mill Motors in Macclesfield and was very pleased with the service. Looked after by the very knowledgeable Nick, definatly recomend to anyone. Well worth the two hour drive from sunny kidderminster.

I hear a few good stories about this company for us Northern brethren.

Even the ones that use BR for their more specialist requirements yes

It is nice to hear from people that have good experiences and want to share them - helps us all.

yes

But it would also be nice if people could share their bad experiences on here too. They could be equally helpful.

Seriously Simon??? It was meant to be funny me old china, hence the chuckle. If I had said BR did a good job, someone would call me a fanboy. It was a joke and I agree it is good that someone has reported good service yes

I thought you were referring to Jockers as a fanboy, hence the Boy?? comment.

I wasn't implying anything about fanboyism at all and I was aware you were having a laugh smile I genuinely meant it is nice to hear about good experiences, but as George correctly stated, we should also be able to write about bad ones too in the name of balanced opinion.

Always good to hear well-balanced feedback, good or bad.

I'd love to post some good feedback for BR and join the fanbo....admirers of their work. However it's been 3 weeks as many chases and still no quote for the 3-way exhaust valve switch gizmo.

They do a 3-way switch? My last one was two way. Normal operation or open all the time. What is the third option?

They don't do it yet but they said they can do, which is the quote I'm waiting on.

Normal > Open All The Time > Closed All Of The Time

The last option will allow me to startup and pull away from my house at 5am without waking the kids. Something I'm failing at currently, as my Mrs reminds me.

Ah neat idea. So they will be closed between 0-1500 RPM whereas they are open within that range normally. I assume the car will start OK with them closed instead of open or are they open at start-up and then close immediately?

Have spoken to Mike about fitting a switch as I had the two way one in my old car, but may change to the three way now.

They stay closed until you switch manually. The whole idea is that they are pre-charged using the switch and then remain active. This should give a much quieter startup cycle including the 'blip' up the rev range which creates the most noise.

Mike was checking with his colleagues to make sure it would be bullet-proof (so to speak) and then would quote for it.

No major rush, I know they've got a lot on currently.

Picking up a Mini Cooper S tomorrow as my runaround to save sticking loads of mileage on the DB9. That should be a bit quieter anyway. wink
