Can anyone help me please. My heater fans do not work. I had it looked at when I had my service and they said the following:

"We hooked it up to our machines and our diagnostics indicate that your fans are woking perfect. We know they are not working as you can't hear or feel the fans so there is obviously another problem somewhere. We've checked the fuses and they are all ok. You'll have to re-book your car in to get it looked at properly".

Hmm - handy!! I can feel a bit of heat or cold coming out of the vents when driving along (dependant on temperature setting) but no fan to assist the air on its way. Therefore, on a wet day, the windows steam up and make driving very dangerous. Has anyone experienced this before and if so, did it ever get resolved?

I have a P reg 2.5 with 50k on the clock.

Cheers

Can you get to the switch fairly easily? (Mine's got CC so I don't know).

A quick ready reckoner is to put a multimeter on the feed and see if you have got 12V. If you haven't, there is a problem somewhere after the fuse... Double double check the fuse! If you have, check the output from the switch on different settings and see what happens. If you never get anything, the switch is FUBAR'd, if you do, the fan is likely to be the culprit.

Having never taken mine apart, I don't know what it's like to get to, but if any other car I have worked on is anything to go by, they put the fan on the production line and build the car around it!!! Not nice.
