The problem you have is that you are seeming to class rape and murder as pretty much the same sentencing. Now while I have some sympathy with your point of view, you have to ask youself why would any rapist leave their victim alive anymore?

I would support chemical castration, but I'm not at all sure the reason these nutjobs do it has anything to do with sex.

I'd like to see minimum sentences for every crime .
The problem with minimum sentencing is that it removes the ability to allow for specific circumstances. That's why we have a judge.

Don't judge based on anger, do it based on fact.

Rape tends to be about power rather than sex.

The rapist pounced on a young woman in an underpass and raped her......is that enough information for some of you !!!!
As sad as it is she will get over it, in time hopefully. The robbery might of been for somebodies life savings that they will never recover from or perhaps an elderly person and the stress kills them. Not the same really is it?

Think you might be a bit wide of the mark, with pretty much everything you have written there

Curtis Pizzey was actually sentenced to six years, not the three that the Sun reports. That's why it's useful to know the case, newspapers are often wrong in what they report.

Personally I wouldn't say that was enough though.
you're quite correct,it was 6 years, still not enough as you say
A six year sentence equals three years in prison.

Really? So please give more details of the robbery. Do you know any details of either case?

Only my personal opinion, but

1) A crime against the person should always trump a crime against property
2) Very few women who have been raped ever really get over it.

I think therefore I pretty much disagree with everything you've said. Not sure about the robbery details. I have no more information than you.

So a robbery that results in the death of an OAP through stress and worry is less of a crime rape? WOW you dont value the life of an elderly person very highly do you!

I think I would prefer being raped to having my house ransacked and losing all the material possessions that I hold dear.

If you are going to get angry every time you don't agree with the outcome of a court case - I suggest that you will be a permanently angry person.

To what purpose?

Who will gain from your anger?

My hunch it is only you that will lose.

Couldn't agree more Grumfutock. A bit of light rape isn't the end of the world is it? You know, the fun kind. The bruises and tears will heal soon enough and she'll be saying how ridiculous she was being getting so upset over a a little smidgeon of uninvited cock.

You probably cant tell, given that you are such a moron, but the above is sarcastic

By definition, a robbery is a crime against a person.

Not if they're unique, out of production or very expensive. I'd rather have a sore arse and a few months of mental discomfort, assuming it would take me that long to get over it.

Are you suggesting that rape takes a 'few months of mental discomfort' to get over?
