Sam's Wanders 2013 edition: Australia?
Discussion
Folks,
I love my 3-week getaways in the winter, it's become something of a habit now. I've been racking my brains what to do/where to go for a while now. I currently have a slightly earlier period booked as annual leave.
Stumbled across this idea earlier, seems incredible value at £830:
I love Hong Kong, so the prospect of a few nights there first checking out the horse racing, wandering around the bars etc is very appealing, then the "open jaw" Australian element would allow me to travel up the coast checking it out.
And the best bit is the free night in Honkers on the way back to break up the return flight.
Any ideas on itineraries, "Must sees" that side of Oz etc?

Any thoughts folks? I'm mainly interested in whether the flight price sounds good- Seems very cheap to me.
Does 2 weeks to travel from Sydney-Cairns seeing some sights along the way sound like a reasonable/doable plan?
I'm thinking about pushing this to mid-Sept, work dependent. Presume weather will be alright?
