That's it I'm afraid.
Williams was never going to lose that match unless she really fell asleep.
Well Serena has won these kind of matches so often it is easy to think she was 'never going to lose', but in reality even someone of her ability would not consciously choose to cut it so fine. A couple of well placed serves or a bad shot from Serena and it was match over. Williams was never going to lose that match unless she really fell asleep.
I do agree it is melodrama from Serena though. Her emotions are completely out of control these days and the only way she can manage them is by letting everyone know exactly how she feels by doing all these strange over the top gestures and screaming.
Then again Novak Djokovic is almost as guilty; when he starts losing a match there is always a injury or health problem that makes him walk about the court like he is about to drop dead at any moment....... then the point starts and he running around like the energizer bunny again. It really gets on my tits and the opponents fall for it every time!

Anyone see the clip on BBC iplayer showing Tsonga's opponent double hitting the ball on a crucial point . Bad miss by the umpire (though I guess it was v quick) but it would have won Tsonga that set had it been spotted.
At the time I thought it was a foul shot too however on Wimbledon 2day last night Pat Cash and Martina Navratilova said it was a legal shot because it was all in one motion/swing. Apparently they changed the rules a few years back@ 56:00

No chance.
It looks "intentional" only in slo mo.
Look in normal speed. Now way does he have the reaction time to do that intentionally. Just do the maths. Human reaction time vs time for the ball to travel from the racket to the second impact point. Absolutely no way can that be intentional.

You sir, are deluded. That is blatant and he knew exactly what he was doing. It looks "intentional" only in slo mo.

I suppose it's one of those things only the player knows if it was a foul shot or not. A bit like snooker players and push shots.
If it wasn't at such an important stage of the match not much would be made of it. As a spectacle I would have preferred Tsonga to go through and play Murray but nevertheless all credit to Karlovic for getting to the second week at his age. The commentators said he is the oldest player to reach the round of 16 at Wimbledon for almost 40 years.
Tsonga's reaction to the incident was very sporting:

Q. It's obviously a tough defeat for you to take. Were you aware in the third set when you had set point that Karlovic appeared to double hit the ball at the net?
JO-WILFRIED TSONGA: Fourth set.
Q. Fourth set, set point.
JO-WILFRIED TSONGA: Yeah, but, I mean, it's the job of the umpire, you know, to see it. If he can't see it, I can't do anything. Even if I saw it, I can't say anything, so...
Q. Do you think it should be the responsibility of a player to declare that on himself? They would in golf, for instance.
JO-WILFRIED TSONGA: Not really. Otherwise we don't need umpire anymore.
No, I think it's just about the umpire to see it if it's like this, and that's it.
Q. You didn't seem to complain at the time. I assume you didn't see it when it happened?
JO-WILFRIED TSONGA: I just look at the umpire. He said no. I said okay, next point.

Kyrgios just proving what I was suspecting this year, he is an utter knobhead!!
I also find it intriguing that Sue Barker mentioned that he has had issue with all the umpires of his matches. Maybe he should see what the common denominator is in all those matches and look at himself more, very arrogant and one of the commentators trying to make reasons for his behaviour just annoys me more
