I purchased this from a member over on bmw5 forum this past weekend. It's a 2002 E39 530i Sport Auto, titan metallic silver, 89k. Very well cared for and a decent spec. Also my second E39, replacing my 1999 528i SE Auto. Nav, full leather and all the Sport goodies. The last owner also fitted HID's. All it needs is the airbag light fixing as it intermittently comes on and a small patch of rust sorting out on the drivers side quarter panel (looking at circa £300 to fix) The cooling system is all original so that will be getting looked at. I would imagine I'd replace at least the water pump, viscous fan and radiator as a bit of pre-emptive maintenance. It's just had the inspection 1 and MOT from a BMW dealer so it's in great mechanical condition.

small patch of rust- pretty much the only rust on the car. Will be easily taken care of shortly.

No plans to modify it or anything else, although I might take out the bar at the front of the bumper like on the M5 as I prefer the look, not sure if this is possible though... it's early days but so far so good.

Ha - mine is an RJ52 as well and has 88000 miles. Small world!

Just out of interest, how much did you pay (if you don't mind me asking)?

Cool - ta.

I bought mine off a PH'er - far and away the all-round car I've ever had.

Yours looks nice. Any issues with it so far?

Currently de-badged, quite like the clean look... what do you lot think?

That was from when I bought it 5 or 6 years ago (can't remember which!).

Other than servicing and tyres, it hasn't needed much - a new hedgehog, a parking sensor here and there (it needs a rear one at the moment but it is one of the middle ones and I can't be faffed taking the whole bumper off to do it at the moment), a new battery and alternator. Think that's about it to be honest.

It's got a couple a minor battle scars now but I don't think it's any that that a couple of hundred quid at the paintshop won't sort out.

Got a bit of rust starting to show around the boot lock, so keep an eye out for that.

Liking the debadged look thumbup

I'll think I'll keep it de-badged. I'm glad this was made back in the day BMW didn't go mad with the ///M logo. Although I've seen some Sports with the ///M logo on the front door trims... don't mind those.

They must have been optional, I thought the later ones got them but yours doesn't and nor did my Y-Plate.

£20 a side from the dealer apparently.... will cosmetically and mechanically ensure the car is sound but I think I'll probably get these.

Looks good.

I like those wheels the best too.

Only things I'd change would be M5 mirrors and the M5 slat in the air dam.

Not wishing to make it look like an M5, just look the best they can smile

I'm increasingly tempted by an 04 ish vintage 530d sport or something.

HIGH FIVE!

I bought this one about 6 weeks ago. It is my 4th petrol E39 and second only to the M5.

2000MY Titan silver 530iA Sport
84k miles
2 owners
full history
spotless in and out
new rad and water pump done 5k miles ago
electric everything, all works

Thanks all, nice to see other E39's.

Graham- they are an aftermarket kit yes and look brilliant. Didn't have Xenons as standard. Haven't played with the blutooth yet...
