Please don't mention Bergkamp in the same breath as Ozil. I'm hopeful Ozil will come good, especially if we add the right players this summer. However, Ozil isnt fit to lace Bergkamps boots!
Rather unfair on Ozil there - he hasn't even finished his 1st season with us so we have no idea how he will end up compared to Bergkamp (my favourite ever Arsenal player by the way). Bergkamp didn't start as well as Ozil did in the first few months and by the end of season I expect their first year stats will be pretty similair. And just like Bergkamp's arrival heralded something of a new 'era' at the club - if Arsenal buy a player of Ozil quality every year then his arrival could be seen in the same light. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic but I have every confidence that Ozil will be a great player for Arsenal.
I like Ozil, I think there is far more to come from him, however he will have to be very, very special to be better than Bergkamp in my opinion.

Funny old world. Ozil and Ramsey back and we look a much better side.
Maybe my calls for a sense of perspective in the face of a crippling injury list weren't so far wide of the mark.
Feeling smug are we?Maybe my calls for a sense of perspective in the face of a crippling injury list weren't so far wide of the mark.
The fact remains we need to ask why we suffer so many injuries? why we didn't strengthen when we needed to? How much would we have acheived if we had a world class centre forward? How things could have been different of we had more pace? What could have been acheived if we had a manager who understands the need to adopt different strategies/tactics?
We played particularly well once we took the lead, we controlled the game from that point forward. Come the summer it is time for change as once again we seem to get results in the league when the pressure to some degree is off us.

Indeed. The fact is though that we shouldn't have gone into the season with such a small squad. Everyone could see we needed depth yet nothing was done.Maybe my calls for a sense of perspective in the face of a crippling injury list weren't so far wide of the mark.
Happy with today's performance but still of the opinion that a Wenger-managed Arsenal will not win rhe Prem again. The missing players was a factor that a decent tactician could've countered. To have haemorraged goals against sides that have subsequently struggled to score against Palace speaks volumes.

Absolutely spot on. Unfortunately, the apologists just don't see it. Trophybloo said:

Whilst it was a good performance today especially from Ramsey and Podolski we are still too far away from winning the title with the current squad. Experience needs to be brought in rather than some young hopefuls with little or no experience of top flight or champions leage football.
