Sanchez again. We are relying on him a huge amount at the moment.

See on the Live Text Gibbs went off with an injury. Did it look bad?

Quick question but is Diaby injured again. A few weeks ago Wenger was saying he can make him to a defensive midfielder but I haven't seen him play a game since that comeback??

Yeah apparently Diaby has a calf or thigh problem (can't remember which one). Crazy luck with injury.

Table looking a bit healthier with Pool and City dropping points at least. Not a great win, but a couple of goals and a clean sheet at least. Where would we be without Sanchez?

I think if he felt he needed a ne challenge, he wouldn't have signed a new 6 year deal at BD last year.

I don't see Klopp at the Emirates anytime soon, even if the mad Frenchmen was to bugger off in two year time. You never know though.
Maybe worth keeping an eye on Koeman though and nick him from Saints in 2 years time if he gets them a top 6 or thereabouts finish this year and back it up next season.
Maybe DB10 might then be tempted back as assistant coach for a fellow cloggie......
Skeletor also signed a 6 year contract at Man Utd last year.
Hardly a comparison...... laugh
Why? Have you seen where Dortmund are this season?
Not what I was getting at as a comparison. Managerial ability was what I was refering to, namely, Klopp can, and Moyes......well, couldn't laugh

And Dortmund may be not where they are used to be being in Bundeslegia, but they ahead of us in the CL. Given that most of his best players have been sold over the past two seasons, Klopp's still doing not bad.

Nowhere! We'd have lost the last two and drawn today without him. That said we only scored today because of defensive errors.

I see Ramsey got dropped, right decision. With a dodgy defence we need more cover at the back so playing Artera and Flamini makes sense.

I got a cab over to The a Emirates for the stadium tour today (Charlie George is a legend)....cabbie is a season ticket holder. Posed a very good question...why haven't we recalled Jenks ?!?!

Good enough win today, happy enough to just grab the points and move on!

As for Sanchez bowbowbowbowbowbow

Re Jenks. Is his loan a 'cannot be recalled' deal, or is that just in Championship Manager?

I may be mistaken but I think players can only be recalled from loan during a transfer window. And if there is a fee involved in the loan then they can't be recalled. I am probably way off though, I have no idea where I got that info from so it may be made up.

I agree that the back line would look better with him in the squad.

I presume we can't recall Jenks because we have contracted a season long loan 'for a consideration'

We, Liverpool, recalled Brad Smith this week from his loan.

I'm sure I heard on the radio some time ago that you can call players back from the championship but not from other premier league teams.

....and the team would be looking so much better with Song and Fabregas. Cesc was a no brainer but Alex Song has matured into a very good mid-fielder. Was he bombed out by Wenger because they had a bust up?

I think Song was a fairly difficult character from what I have read/heard from people that seem to be well informed. Hi did get something like 15 assists feeding RVP in his last season which is very impressive for a "defensive" midfielder

Interesting to know what a defensive error is in that stat... not disagreeing, just interested as obviously the amount of defensive errors hasn't led to that amount of goals against.

Very true but I can remember thinking at certain stages over the last couple of years about how many fking errors had cost us goals. Sad to say TV5 in his last couple of years was an absolute master of the defensive error.

As you say very hard to know how it's defined....the Spurs goal in the recent game was an error (Flamini had a shocker controlling the ball) but you could argue that was because Spurs pressed so well for that goal. That said assuming it's the same for all clubs we're still st.

Yep, true... as long as it is consistent then it doesn't have to be accurate to make a comparison.... and not sure this will be solved in a Jan transfer window!

Gibbs and Wilshere out for today! Hopefully just precautions and nothing serious. I guess that means a back four of Bellerin, Per, Chambers and Monreal. Not a bad back four at all, but leaves Hayden as the only defender on the bench! Crazy.
