Wenger saying it's unfortunate to have lost Debuchy because he can play as a central defender is a bit worrying.

Yes, but that may mean it's forced his hand. What I think is interesting about the defence is that Bellerin is getting the nod over Chambers and frankly he's looking pretty good after a couple of tough performance earlier in the season. Without doubt his pace is a threat on the break.

Chambers has been mentioned as a possible holding midfielder for England duty. I'm wondering how much of this will depend on his role at Arsenal.

Cazorla has been great lately. Glad to see some notice taken of it.

Surprised no one mentioned Giroud, he showed today why he needs to be first choice ahead of Welbeck IMO, got his goal but what impressed me was his ability to hold up play and get everyone else involved, and his first touch is up their with the very best IMO.

So Wengers back 'in' this week and knows what hes doing or just fluked it and needs to be out?
rolleyes

For this club to move forward properly things need to change. It'll take more than 1 result to convince me that Wenger is the right man for the job.

I firmly believe that Wenger isn't going to change overnight. We need to be consistent and we need to prove this result was not a one off.

Am I convinced he knows what he's doing? No, far from it.
yes

He hit a hole in one today. Not enough to convince me he can even par the round, time will tell though I'm sceptical.

His pass into space for AOC on the right was superb.

Great performance. Tactics, team selection, workrate, all spot on.

Well done Wenger and the players.

So many good performances.....I think Kozzer's touch to nick the ball off the toes of Ageuro and Jovetic from that cross was probably the vital moment in the game.

Giroud's movement, ability to hold the ball up and first touch is indeed first class. He's not in Aguero's class as a finisher (who is) and doesn't have Walcott's pace but he's definitely got some strengths! We're a better side with him in the team.

Be interesting to see who he picks for the Brighton game this weekend. Ozil and Walcott will be gagging for a start.

I don't think it's about whether any of us are convinced, more whether Wenger himself is convinced by yesterday's change in tactics and results.

What worries me about all this praise directed at Wenger about changing tactics and having a plan B is that he had no choice IMO. If Arteta and Jack was fit would Coq get a look in? If we had a full team he'd still be playing for Charlton.

It wasn't a genius move more a forced hand IMO. Only time will tell if Arsne has adapted to the plain and obvious.

I hope he has, I really do.

Believe it or not we haven't done too badly against the big teams. 2 wins and draw against Citeh this season. Outplayed Man U but they are just Man U and s, 3 shots all game and 2 goals. Even at the Bridge we weren't too bad, goals conceded more a result of individual errors.

laugh Given where I live, a good proportion of my closest friends are Spurs fans - although it's not quite as easy to get a rise out of them as it is out of the touchy Doris's on here...

It'll be three times in a month if there's no defender signed before the end of the window.

Sounds like Paulista is the new defender.....if they can sort out a work permit for him. I'll confess I have never heard of him but then that's standard practice for Arsenal signings!

Yup. Bet he'll be fielding a stronger side against Brighton now.

It's hard to what to take the greatest pleasure out of Spurs going out cos their Spurs , Chelsea because Mourinho is the biggest that has ever had anything to do with the game or City because they went on a jolly midweek because all they care about is money and paid the price.
