Not to be underestimated , their manager is a hugely respected chap in the game.
I'll confess I'd never heard of him until Saturday! Got an impressive pedigree.

It's a bit of a joke that he got a permit really. Basically meets none of the criteria at all.

I mean he's 24, never played for the national team (let alone the 75% required) and only broke into the Villareal team this season. Hardly an "exceptional talent".
So because he's only played this season in the Villarreal side you've decided he's not an exceptional talent. That is bizarre logic, it really is.
How is it bizarre logic?

Surely an "exceptional talent", you know a one off, an "exception" to the norm, has done more than just break into the first team at 24 years old should have at least represented his country a little bit.

There is nothing about him that screams exceptional talent that should have meant he gets in under the current rules.

I said nothing about what he might become in the future.

Looks as though kevin grosskreutz might be on his way to the emirates. Apparently he's a Gunners fan. Could be a decent signing under 4 million quid.

Let's hope he's a good un!

Joel Campbell signed a new long term contract before he went off on loan.

He has a bit of a Martin Keown look about him. I hope this transpires as: got fk all to lose and I'm going in for this tackle.

Far too easy today! top stuff from Ozil and great to see Bellerin get his first goal, he gets better and better!

I knew Villa couldn't score in a brothel, but I didn't realise they were that st all round!

A very classy performance today, everyone putting the work in, Ozil looked very good, sublime touch for hansom's goal, theo finished well and I am really liking the look of Ospina with 2 good saves and claiming a lot of high balls into the box.

A great performance before next weekend.

Funny old game....we've gone from looking out on our feet and totally clueless a month ago against Soton to oozing confidence against an admittedly poor Villa side. Coquelin has made a fking massive difference but we now have ridiculous strength in depth. Who on earth does Wenger pick next weekend to play in those 3 positions behind Giroud? You can make an argument for any of five players and all deserve to be in the team. I think he goes Alexis, Walcott (mostly because of his pace) and then I honestly have no clue whether Santi or Ozil. Quality problem.

Love the way Bellerin is playing...one of the the things I love about Arsenal is how we bring young players through.

A very good afternoons work. Excellent performances from the defence, in particular Bellerin who really is finding his feet.

Superb in midfield with another good performance from Coquelin and Cazorla in particular. Ozil was excellent and Walcott and Giroud took their goals well.

In terms of options we're significantly stronger with the addition of Gabriel. In the summer we need to splash huge cash on a midfield general we've so desperately craved for the best part of 10 years. Keep the players we've got and let the likes of Flamini, Sanogo, Campbell and sadly Podolski move on.

To think we didn't have; Alexis, Welbeck, Arteta, Debuchy or Wilshere today. For the avoidance of doubt, I remain firm in the belief that for this club to be taken to the next level we need a change of Manager but that isn't going to happen so we are where we are.

That flick from Ozil was sublime, he's been a different player since his return from injury. Finally seeing why the Real Madrid fans were so upset at his departure.

As for Wenger, this is the best team we've had for a very long time. Time will tell whether we can truly compete with the very best with him at the helm. I hope he can. One things for sure we are in a very strong position in the FA cup and Champions League. A lot will depend on our performances in these competitions.

You'll get your wish, the club won't change the Manager we're stuck with him. I said earlier in the season that under Wenger we would have periods where we'd play well and win games, however an embarrassment is just around the corner with Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.

To add some perspective; we are 11 points behind Chelsea and for the third biggest club in England that's unacceptable for me.

Villa were by far and away the worst side at the Emirates this season - truely woeful.

On the way to the match I even predicted the right scoreline as well, should have had a few quid on that, and considering we also hit the woodwork twice as well, and squandered a few other chances it could have been a lot more than 5.

It's been an enjoyable few wins. Bellerin is getting better with each game. He looked well chuffed with his goal.

The one thing about this current squad (well this current squad with people fit) is that we can take on a busy schedule and stay competitive on more than one front. I'll admit in previous years when it's come to this stage of the CL as much as I love going to those midweek CL games you knew that the team wasn't good enough to win it and that the squad wasn't big enough to cope with an extended run....so I was quietly not too bothered about us going out. Not saying we're good enough yet but we've got the squad to cope with a run in three competitions. We have Leicester three days afetr the Spuds game....guessing that is when we'll see Gabriel and probably when Welbeck and maybe even Wilshere make their comeback's from injury.
