Sunday Service July 21: Vauxhall HQ
Tickets still available for this weekend's Sunday Service; grab them whilst you can!
Heading to Vauxhall means we’ll be seeing old favourites on display from Novas to Cavaliers, VX220s to Royales (what do you mean you’ve never heard of it?). The entire new Vauxhall model range from Cascada to the VXR will be there too, and you may even spot an Australian muscle car or two as well.
Not enough? Well you can also race RC cars, view older classic cars and even shoot a football into a goal that records your kick speed. Of course you can always just relax with some breakfast and look at the 500 PHers cars on display too. To claim your space sign up here.
We’ll be based around their excellent Heritage Centre situated in the shadows of Vauxhall's UK HQ, and the usual supply of breakfast items to provide the sustenance needed for an early start will be on hand.
As per usual, the Sunday Service congregation will gather at 09.00 and will be unceremoniously kicked out at 13.00. Entrance is free, so all you need to worry about is bringing enough cash to buy a spot of breakfast.
Vauxhall HQ can be found at the following address: Griffin House, Osborne Road, Luton. LU1 3YT.
Please note that you will need to pass Griffin House before turning right at the T-junction to enter the Sunday Service car park from Park Street (20mph limit, so be careful). Signposts will guide you from Griffin House, but it is literally around the corner from the main entrance.
Thanks to Vauxhall for the support.
Having seen a Mk1 one again (I think his was the last one I ever saw on the road and we're talking about 25 years ago now) it still has a certain appeal. I'm not a fan of Vauxhall at all, but the boxy charm of the Mk1 GTE puts quite high on my list of 80s-cars-designed-with-a-set-square. Alongside pretty much all Lancias, the ur quattro and the Mk1 Golf.
Here's some pics from the 2012 gathering - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Especially like the crazy concept cars
