Ok chaps, me still not understandind the difference between coil overs and McPherson struts what'd mine? I assume this is the standard set up on a wedge but correct me please if it ain't,cheers for now, wooly.

OK yes the coil goes "over" the shock but that's a standard setup.

When we say "coil over" the coil is attached to the shock absorber instead of the suspension at either one or both ends, and the shock mounting has to support the weight of the car rather than the spring acting one the suspension at the top and bottom.

Generally, a coil-over unit can be removed and replaced as a single item, the way the rear suspension units of motorcycles have been for decades.
