Fulham have been a mainstay in the Premier League under the guidance of Al-Fayed, but have struggled to seriously contend with the top EPL clubs. They have regularly finished in the middle of the table, including a 12th-place finish last season.

Khan would be expected to give the club the necessary assets to become a bigger threat—first for Champions League berths and then potentially runs at the Premier League title.

The Whites to win the Champions league and the Premier league...go Fulham !!

Fayed (the Al is an affectation) only bought the club so he could build flats on the Craven Cottage site, AFAICS. Since that idea went south he's clearly slot interest.

Also, define 'mainstay'.

Well he took them up through the leagues and he's kept them in the top flight for over ten years so done pretty well for a bloke with little interest in them.

Plus the cash he's put in. As a cold heart property investment its not exactly worked out.

American sports owners don't exactly have a good record in the EPL. They want to make a profit but they can't get Champions League places (Where the money is) as they won't spend in the same way as Arab and Russian oil barons who don't give a stuff amount returns.

I hope this is good news because I like Fulham, they're a nice little club. smile

Good news in the sense that they don't turn into QPR I mean.

Agreed, I was there at The Cottage in September 1993 v Liverpool , lost that one 1-3 and 5 nil at Anfield . Indeed The club came very close to extinction .
I remember the general feel good factor and general support they received when reaching a European Cup Final 3 years ago.

^^^This.

You want to see dodgy owners look at the last lot we had at Liverpool. Al has been a very good custodian of the club imo. Look where they were when he bought them and look where they are now.

I'm hoping for the best , he has the funds apparently but is he willing to spend them ? Is his intention to asset strip and build on the bank of the Thames ? Only time will tell.

Fayed did wonders for the club in spite of the haters and probably saved it from extinction, what would these three make of it ?

Magpies and Whites unite to berate a Hammer, indeed it's Sir Bobby although he was treated harshly when he was sacked by FFC ,
I believe the other chap with the hobnails is Bedford Jezzard but would yield to superior knowledge !
