Just found one in my glove box, the 14 days half price period was up yesterday, is it worth sending a cheque now for the discounted amount? or just man up and pay the full amount, by the way I deserved the ticket, this wasn't a miscarriage of justice.

Phone them up - I have had councils listen to reason when it comes to PCNs before - though not for this exact reason.

They'll ask you to write in with the reasons for why it's 'late'
You'll spend time doing it
Their 'panel of adjudicators' will 'assess' your claim and write to you saying they reject your claim
You'll be invited to pay the full amount

Experience has taught me that unless you have a lot of spare time on your hands to write letters you may as well just pay them the full amount, quietly curse your slack admin for hurting your wallet to the tune of a round of drinks, and then just get on with life.

Date a letter and cheque for it being correct, stick it in the post. You might get away with it. smile

Just don't confess - they'll sting you for the extra.
