WHAT CAR NOW???
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Always a favourite topic of mine that i now need help with.
I currently have an e46 BMW M3 53 plate convertible. I love the car and it pretty much ticks every box i could ever ask for, however i like a change and your advice would be much appreciated, here is where is am so far.
I like the Audi a5 3.0 tdi as its 5.9 0-60 and does 50mpg on a run... rediculous right! however there is just something about diesels im not sure about and i like to DRIVE a car.... other options i have looked at are a 911 vert or coupe... older perhaps 52 plate.... i should mention i have about £12-£15k to spend. M5 V10, and looked at the 335i and 335d bmw's....
Can i get your thoughts and any other ideas please? dont really like Jap cars, want something fast but with a level of refined if poss..... I already have the right car right?? lol
Your wisdom would be appreciated.

The E46 M3 is very good so you have quite a dilemma. You are likely to find that whilst a newer car like the A5 is nice, it's better in some areas but worse in others.
My honest advice would be to look at a CSL. If you do get one though you'll be in real trouble as the majority of owners who sell their CSL's seem to miss them terribly.

So diesel's drive by themselves now?
You know what i mean... it just can feel like hollow power sometimes.. dont like waiting for a turbo to give me power. However saying that, they do save you a bit of money. But driving is more than that for me.. i like a car to make me smile!Cemesis said:

Hmm... possibly... i know i wouldn't loose much value in a CSL either... however surely the nuts would have been driven out of 99% of them? My honest advice would be to look at a CSL. It's a Cat D performance car in Birmingham, I wouldn't even sit in that as a passenger, but keep an eye out and you'll find a decent one, make sure you verify the mileage history online and carry out a hpi check etc etc and don't buy without ringing the dealer who carried out specific services to confirm that they were actually carried out, don't want to name and shame but I know of a Birmingham based car rental company that serviced a brand new V8 R8 by themselves (no idea who had the balls to!) for 3 years, then sold it off with a fake service history and the buyer got stung. Head over to the VAG section and get acquainted with Dr G
