Saw this last night on the telly, so random and absolutely nothing to do with mobile phones but utterly brilliant, much like the Meerkat ads and the dancing Pony (3?), it gets people talking about the product.

I really don't like it - and recently posted saying so in the long thread about ads.

Nothing to do with the concept, it's just really poor CGI, the cat looks really mangy like it's been stuffed.

Do you mean to say it's not a real cat?!

The frisbee scene is a bit suspect however everything else looks fine.

I think when you start to critically assess the quality of the cgi you've probably thought about it too much smile its a bit of simple escapism in a world that takes itself too seriously. I love the fact that it exists.

No, you're probably right, but it just really jumped out at me. If it doesn't bother other people then they've not overspent on their effects budget. smile

It's definitely helped by the music. It's hard to listen to Flash without breaking into an enormous grin!

One subtlety is that the 'before' cat is stroked down with static, while the 'after' cat is fluffed up. This adds an appearance of extra vitality and a more dog-look. The transition phase is when he comes round the corner to look at the cat/dog flap. So you have music, pace and appearance all changing to give the desired effect.

Great advert possibly one of the best in ages purely for its uniqueness.

Every time i see it i think of our Tinx as i'm certain she thinks she's a dog (o.k. she doesn't play fetch) but she loves wagging her tail and rolling over for a tummy rub.

Think its because when we got her from the RSPCA her 'pen' was adjacent to the dog kennels.

It may interest some people to know that the 'after' cat isn't a cat. It's a dog and the cat has been facemapped onto it (that's the cgi bit).
