My current RS Megane 265 was nicked by one or more fcensoredg tcensoreds on Monday night and as its not shown up yet chances are its gone for good. weeping
I am having to blag a lift to work and back each day from my 21 year old son which is truly frightening yikes so I need to get mobile again as soon as possible after the insurance is sorted out.

My immediate inclination is to go for another RS Megane. However it is an opportunity to test drive a few alternatives so I was looking for helpful suggestions.

Budget is 26K to circa 30k
New preferred but will look at anything up to 18 months old
Good handling and decent performance a prerequisite
Petrol
Front or rear drive
Daily driver and I use for business so something reasonably subtle needed
BMW M135i is already on the list
I am looking for other suggestions outside the usual suspects (eg not German) as I would prefer something a bit different.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta Cloverleaf?

EVO seem to be enjoying theirs. The biggest problem i see with them (other then no rest for your left foot) is that by the time you have specced it with leather and a few other niceties its knocking on £30,000, and i'd have that pesky M135i every time, despite being an alfa lover (and owner) myself.

Definately, Toyota dealer is next to the local Renault dealer so thats an easy one to arrange.

Nissan 370z looks interesting and after googling the basic spec model it seems a really good price.
Think I will have a better look tomorrow.

Hadn't thought about Alfa but thats a good shout.

I like the BMW price and spec. but I really am struggling to get my head around its looks. I will have a test drive for the M135i if I can arrange it though.

You would get a 2012 Audi S4 or a S3 but I would probably go for the Bmw or 370z

I cant stop looking at these. No "common" faults either.

They are rather epic. Reasonable running costs as well aside from the given fuel penalty. Really good dealers as well who genuinely bend over backwards. As opposed to BMW, who have you bend over...
