Ok.... I had 6 points on my licence, 3 of which expired on Sept 12 and the 4 year point was this year and I had them removed.

If they are "valid" for 3 years and are fully removable from the paper part after 4 years..... Why do bloody insurance companies ask if any have been obtain in the last FIVE years?!?!?

Theoretically speaking..... The last 3 points on my licence are showing but the first three have now gone. Do I NEED to declare all 6, even though the paper part of my licence only shows three and I am assuming the DVLA only register it as 3?

No I am not looking committing insurance fraud, it is a genuine hypothetical question.... smile

If they ask you, you need to answer truthfully.

I do like the idea of penalty pints though.

Yes you do need to declare. Don't give the insurance company a reason not to pay out if you need to claim.

Ps, I thought this thread was going to be something about drinking beer.

I thought you were going to introduce us to some sort of drinking game.

I once played "Penalty Pints" with a mate called Marc Almond! It ranked up there with other such games as "Soggy Biscuit" and "Felch-a-friend"

Penalty PINTS would be lovely...... I'd love them instead of these bloody POINTS!

MODS, if you're feeling charitable please change it, save me the ridicule!

Because under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 such convictions are only "spent" after 5 years. the fact that it is 3 years for the purposes of "totting up" doesn't come into it.

So.... Genuine question here..... Why can I have them removed from my licence after 4 years and not 5?

So you can send them some of your hard earned cash for a piece of paper with no points on it.
