As per the title, I've been wracking my brains to come up with the answer to this one? Is it some kind of sponsorship deal? FL = Football League but what's the 72 mean? confused I saw it yesterday on the planner and thought it was a re-run of a game from 1972 hehe

I noticed the skybet motifs on the shirt arms of the players yesterday - is this a further example of SKY taking over the effing world?

npower had shirt motifs last year as the sponsors of the Football League too; although I agree with your general point, more specifically you are incorrect... hehe

Seems to me that they've decided on FL72 so that when you're skimming the TV guide you don't differentiate between league two or championship.

Makes all their football seem of a similar level rather than the lower tier stuff being undesirable.
