Can anyone recommend a good garage for service and MOT around East Sussex or West Kent for my Chimaera please?

Also places to avoid would be useful as well, pm me please.

John at Sussex TVR in Horam, East Sussex, is very good and after a while off with illness he is opening back up on the 13th so mine is going back to him for fitment of new rad and hoses.

Also recommended is Russ at RW Motor Engineering in Plumpton Green is highly recommended by members of East Sussex TVR, I had to use him whilst John from Sussex TVR was off, and he was very good, I think he is ex Austec, and his prices were very reasonable.

Talking of Austec in Crawley they are another option but I have no personal experience.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for your info.

I looked at John's website and read up about his illness, where is he located?

I did use Austec many moons ago when I had my first Chimaera back in early 2000, I hear things have changed a lot there since then. I will need a rolling road to benchmark the car before I start changing cams, etc. One of the first things will be Clive's Y piece when he starts production again.

Very happy with Taylor TVR, have used a few over the years and he is the only one I would recommend.

Sussex Tvr is based in horam which is a few miles south of heathfield. Dead easy to find him as its a tiny village and his sign is prominently positioned on the pavement at the side of the road and large sign on entrance gate. It's on the right hand side just after the wessons motorcycle cafe if you're heading south.

John's been out of action for quite a while frown due to illness/operation so maybe worth ringing 1st wink this info is backed up by my local motor factor drivers.

Took my Chimaera to John at Sussex TVR in Horam today for him to take a look at a noise from the clutch. Lubed up the slave cylinder push rod to clutch fork contact for free. Seems like a really knowledgeable and nice guy with lots of experience. Excellent workshop facilites. Back up and running now after a serious illness. Brilliantly located for me near Lewes.

Another vote for Dan Taylor here (Taylor TVR).

can't comment on the others, with the exception of the Crawley based one who did little to inspire me to use them despite being less than 3 miles from my house, nuff said imo.
