Hello,

I recently bought a golf mk4 (first car) so have little to no experience with buying parts.

Since the tread on my current tryes are nearly the legal limit, I am planning on changing the wheels as a whole and get rid of the steel rims.

Looking around I came across brand new set of 18" Dotz Radium alloys with brand new ling long green-max tryes. No here's the part which has made me doubt whether the alloys are genuine or replica as the price for the whole set + tyres is just under £300.

Does this sound reasonable? or are these definitely fake?

I was looking at Dotz website and other alloy models cost considerably more.

Please help!!

Thanks in advance

Given Dotz are hardly a high end expensive brand like Rays or BBS I'd be very surprised if they're fakes.

Good wheels and rubbish tyres does sound rather backwards to me. hehe

As for whether their real or fake, does it actually matter if you can't tell? smile

I'd have thought that 18 inch wheels on a mk4 Golf would ruin the handling anyway.

Sounds a bit @nal but if this is your 1st car you need to be checking your insurance before you go for super fandango alloys.

Then seek out some decent 2nd hand ones maybe R32 etc. cos it won't be long before you kerb them and the cheapie ones won't fair so well.
