Only 'asian' weddings or was that a bit of flavour you added yourself?
Isn't it the norm to hire a load of cars like this and all drive around like knobs in them at Asian weddings?

5 mins on YouTube leaves me with that impression.

Been to loads of non Asian weddings and never seen this behaviour

I suppose 'Traveller Prom Nights' could be another example of similar behaviour too

Each to their own like.
You tube and inductive reasoning. Well done you.

And what exactly do you mean by 'asian' or do they all look the same to you?
All races, cultures and creeds tend to have their own traditions, idiosyncrasies and habits, and mentioning them does not mean someone is being 'racist', as I think you're (repeatedly) trying to imply.

Now this is getting interesting. I see your testes are plucking up the courage to say what you really mean. Please can you be courteous enough to divulge what you really mean about the Pakistani culture, as I would love to be educated against the belief, like most other distinguished members of this forum hold, and that is idiots come in all races, and cultures.

Regards
Mr. Fox.
No I won't do you any courtesy Mr. 'distinguished' member, I made an observation I believe to be true about some cultures and how they like to display their wealth and why other cultures may see it as cringeworthy. Any further cultural commentary is in your head (as your reply to my post proved) and I will not be drawn into any debate designed to out me as a racist.
Oh I'm not a distinguished member, far from it, more closer to a working class ne'er do well. ;-) , and nor am I trying to argue with your belief's, but just stating that sometimes a discussion is a good way of letting one know if their beliefs are mis-aligned.

Mr. Fox

Yes you are right, and that's why I felt the need to say something, it's a real shame really that in this day, and age we have narrow minded views on each others backgrounds.

I agree that Aleem was acting like an idiot in the video, fuelled by the carparazzi to do it more, but people forget he's only 19, and we've all done stupid things at that age, and the only difference is what we had at our disposal at that age. For me it was a bottle of Herzog, and wetting the bed, and I for sure would swap the ridicule I got for that with driving in Central London like a tw@.

What makes Craigwww's post even more cringe worthy is that now what he's really saying is "Ah Bunty your not Pakistani, your one of us", and I'm sure his views on Jews are just as narrow minded when talking to his anti-Semitic friends.

Regards
Mr. Fox
You sir have issues.
I can assure you that the bed wetting was a one off, and it has never happened again(in my parents house), but thank you for your concern.

I think the ownership is the trivial point, even at 1000+ weddings a year it seems unlikely that it could support that brand new fleet of big spec vehicles which is the interesting bit, even without the vat, unless the other costs are minimal and not a lot of tax is being paid you would imagine profits are marginal, but a nice way to own the cars if you could make them cut even.

Seems not impossible but unlikely and so makes you wonder how it is possible, look at every other hire company, or maybe Aleem is running the perfect business and its making loads of money and I'm missing a trick, in which case good luck to him.

But British culture has never been about that, as a proud nation that once pretty much ruled the world and who have achieved so much for such a small country, are defined by the deeds we do, not the cars we drive. Modesty, maturity, quiet confidence, and taste are qualities we aspire to, unlike many other cultures, especially Asian.

Do they all look the same? What do you mean by asian?

Is driving around like knobs a 'tradition' for 'them'?

You've made a call based on you tube vs the loads of non asian weddings (was it themed or was that the entrance policy wink) you've been to (whatever that means)?

I don't think that one day his father woke up, and bought everything, but assume he has built the business up over a period of years, built up a good client base, and probably re-invest's what he makes straight back in, alas I'm sure you assumed the latter to be the case also.

If the car(non roadster) is worth £300k, and rental is circa £2k per day, therefore only 150 days are required to gain outlay back, which over a 5 year period(6 months use only per year) equates to 900 days. Roughly one booking per week over the usable 6 month period seems do able(I say do able in a very loose way, as no way would I have the propensity for this kind of risk outlay, or consider such a business, but I'm sure Mr Aleem senior has an astute accountant who lets him know what is financially viable).

Mr. Fox.

It's not that simple though is it, the insurance costs for rental firms for £300k cars are very very steep. + abnormally frequent maintenance costs due to the higher mileages.

True, alas it was just a quick calculation.
Plus a new set of P Zero's after every rental.
Lol.

Btw just out of interest, how much do you think the insurance is per annum for such a rental vehicle.

So much barely-disguised bitterness and misery in this thread.... over some 19 year old kid revving a Lamborghini in town.
It's not clever by any means. Indeed it's daft and offensive but WOW. Just wow.

Indeed.

I'm no racist but why is it always them foreigners doing this stuff???? Honestly, I can't be racist because I'm not actually expressing my personal opinion, just the opinion some hypothetical racist person might have, and anyway one of my best mates is a coloured chappy.. so there.

I'd imagine the insurance is do-able but I'm dubious about the maintenance. These cars tend to be temperamental and all the hired stuff I've seen is ragged to death over speed bumps (Green Street on Eid for example), I think the costs of keeping a supercar running in decent fettle after the way these hire ones are treated would be astronomical.
Happy to be proved wrong but the figures don't add up for me.

Oh, and before anyone asks, the cars driven at Eid are normally hired by Asians, so to save time I'm obviously racist to mention it.

Actually, now I think of it, a bloke who works for me has a mate who runs one of these companies, I'll ask him about it.

I'm sure the higher mileage older & relatively cheaper cars make a good yield. The more expensive newer stuff is doubtful IMO, but probably enough said, if they can make it work good for them.

Probably a lesson in it, as in the internet is not real life or always what it seems, as I'm sure all the pistonheads well built company directors will testify to.

As we're all getting so het up about definitions, why don't we ask the Lord what he means by Asian?

Quoted from his/ his dads/ someones website http://platinumet.co.uk/

'The Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of our most popular wedding cars. It has been an icon for luxury and elegance for nearly a century, and is just the thing to arrive in style to any function, civil partnership, Asian or Western wedding. We have the UK’s largest fleet of Rolls-Royces for you to choose from including the Ghost and Drophead too.'
