28 wk ck for me. All good so far, though disappointed as they don't want to check me for Strep B, even though I had it with my firstborn and it was picked up in a sample when I was pregnant last year . I am pretty laid back and trusting of most medical advice I get and I am aware of their reasons for not doing it but I don't think I am being unreasonable wanting to be checked given my history. I did not see my regular midwife today (though the lady I saw was otherwise nice enough) so we have left it that I will 'think about it' and decide at next appt. They will do it if I insist. I will be insisting! I am more wary as my waters broke without contractions last time, knowing I was a carrier meant I was induced immediately, this would not have happened normally and would've put my baby at more risk!

What's the split of parenting duties here? Are you guys 50/50, does one of you do more than the other? Or has anyone got a partner who has completely taken over and doesn't let you get a look in?
It was fairly even for us, I did breastfeed so obviously that limited hubby to some degree! Though we also mixed fed and I did express. Of course after paternity leave I did more but I could never fault my hubby's involvement and I was more than happy for it!! Of course I sometimes had to offer opinion on how to do things .Defcon5 said:

Been eying up ST220s, should be easy to sneak that under her nose 'ooh look at this big booted safe car I've bought, I didn't even notice it had two exhausts'

I've been looking at DSG MK5 Golf Gti's myself. Perfect family car and comfy (read normal) when needed, yet entertaining for me when I want some fun. The dream of a 'fun' 3rd car, Elise or Caterham is still goal but it'll be a way off yet.
Just as the prospect of an induction was looming, this little chap decided he wanted to come naturally. Eric Charles, 7 lb exactly, born yesterday in the birthing pool at the Chipping Norton midwife-led unit with an intact caul. I'd left home to cycle to work at 7am, by the time I'd got there and showered, I'd had 3 missed calls. Jumped back on the bike, 15 miles back home, we were at the centre by 10.30 and he was born just before 1pm. Home by 6pm.
The midwife-led unit was brilliant - if you are lucky enough to have no complications in pregnancy, there really is no reason to go for a hospital ahead of one.
He's awesome and slept all the way home.

Read your post Hoddo and thought 'why's he selling the 100HP, we are keeping ours' - then saw the word 'twins'.
Our other car is an Octavia estate. We've got the 4x4 version, but the VRS is the same size. Swallowed all our little one's stuff, so I'm sure it would do likewise with two.

Just thought I would pop on here. We have had twins , they are now 2 months old. Wasnt the most straight forward pregnancy plenty of trips to the hospital. We were consultant led. Thankfully all was okay , had a 4 night stay in the hospital after the birth. They are getting into a bit of a routine , more good nights than bad. Hard work for the OH while I'm at work , we also have a 2 year old. Can get a bit crazy just not enough hands or time.
I hadn't seen this thread. Glad to know it exists.
My partner is 31 weeks on Thursday and I'm getting more and more excited. Two of my good friends are in a similar position, one had his lad born 2 weeks early a week ago and the other is due a month after us. It's my partners 2nd and apparently the 2nd one can come quicker than the 1st her 1st was born an hour after contractions started. We've been told we're going to get a home birthing kit to be safe
We're due to have a boy

My little lad Toby is now 15 weeks old! Time is really flying already. He's doing really well, lots of babbles as he tries to talk. He's even getting ahead of himself and trying to walk! He's always loved being upright and can easily stand on his feet if you hold him up.
He has his good nights and bad nights sometimes we're up twice, sometimes it's twice an hour.
