His mums house is about 3 streets away from me. Funny its still the house they lived in for years and looks just like any old ex council house but now with a V10 R8, RR and an AMG merc on the drive.

Good luck to him, or any other top footballer...

It's a short career, and if any club are daft enough to pay it..........

Truly sickening amount of money for ONE person to kick a ball about for 90 minutes and in a country already completely on its ar5e.

It truly is time for fans of ALL clubs to get together and repel this money obsessed nonsense that poisons the game.

If they are stupid enough to pay him that much then what a fool he'd be not to take it. Best of luck to him.

It isn't just 300K though. Add on bonuses, sponsorship, etc, and it will be a lot more.

6 years? Why any club would commit to that amount of time seems crazy to me.
It won't stop their either because the other team members surely won't be happy at his wage.

Top players should be paid handsomely but that IMO is way over the top.

These clubs rake in mega millions from TV/sponsorship/merchandising.

Why shouldn't the players receive the majority of that as they are the ones attracting the cash in the first place?

I think it is also fans and viewing numbers that attract advertising and sponsorship money, good players and success helps but as we see week in week out there are clubs that can pull in tens of thousands of fans no problem yet have not won anything for years.
