LOTR tower looks bigger than I thought it'd be.
Feeling kind of sad I didn't pick up an SSD looking at the build and pictures you've posted. frown

Is this thread just for assembly of Lego kits or are scratch-built Lego models allowable too?

I notice there was an exo-suit earlier.

I made this Mech a few years ago, and it's been sitting on a shelf since so it's a little dusty I'm afraid.

It's made from predominantly Bionicle parts, with some regular Lego and some Lego Technic thrown in too. The Gatling gun is my own design - in fact, none of the features or techniques were cribbed off anywhere as I tended to just make up stuff as I went along. smile

I cheated a little on the central missile launcher pod as that's Megablocks rather than Lego. paperbag

Today's haul.

I've got 10229 that I might build as well. http://brickset.com/sets/10229-1/Winter-Village-Co...

My freebie set arrived yesterday - unfortunately they were out of stock of the Santa's Workshop so I've got to wait for that to arrive in mid-November. I'm surprised they sent them separately.

Blocks mag arrived for me a week or so ago. Which is odd because I've haven't subscribed; I just bought the Sandcrawler issue.

They don't keep promos, so they send it out when you order, if our order is cancelled you get to keep the freebie anyway.

Good effort in assisting another PHer clap

Shame I didn't have any spare cash otherwise I'd have snapped your arm off to take up your offer.

Oh, and nowhere to display a behemoth like that anyway.....

There is a thread on brickset that links to a news item when they stopped making the 10179 Millenium Falcon.

Just got the email for this. Glad I ordered mine some time back. The email also said you can get it with free shipping while it's available, which is a decent deal.

I'll be curious to see how much this one eventually goes for on eBay and Bricklink. Hard to see it having the appreciation of the last Falcon (2004 had an MSRP of $100, but goes for $200-$400 on eBay) given how expensive this one already is.
I know of one mint in box but you probably need £3.5k+ for it, so 10x retail value+.

Turns out they weren't out of stock of the Santa Workshop because it turned up today (sent from NL, according to the label - or is that just where it was last sorted?). The promo set came from the UK judging by the speed of delivery and label.

I commend Lego for their habit of delivering before you expect them to smile

I picked mine up on Thursday in store, they said they had about 40 in stock, they often send stuff alot earlier than stated as well.

Double points as well, so you'll get £5 back, a £1 on the way to the next £5 as well as the free set, nice.

I only placed the order because I had a previous £5 voucher from double points... Do I wish I'd found the VIP club before...? biggrin

Usually instructions are loose or in a selotaped bag with a piece of card.

I've received quite alot of sets with squashed instructions and stickers recently, but never had a set like this before, could be good if they used this for most sets in the future.
