Isn't it a Lego Ideas set? Do they carry different selling rules from Lego for retailers?
No - this is the official Lego set. Available to VIPs mid Feb I believe. Order button in standby. Going to cost a fair whack (£270?) but worth it - to me at least.

May buy one and mothball one.
I thought it was the Helicarrier from Ideas that had been approved. Looks like I was wrong after a quick visit to the Ideas website it's in review still. However, I still really want one.
The ideas helicarrier would have been thousands of £ as it uses so many bits.

However it does look a bit off when ideas have a model getting support, then LEGO make there own one.

I suspect that this will be one of Lego's "flagship" products that they don't supply to resellers.

I've asked Russ in the past about whether he could do a couple of the UCS Star Wars kits and he said that there are some things that Lego just won't supply to him.

You should probably sell R2-D2, he's worth a fair bit since he was discontinued.
He should probably sell all of his Lego and not buy any more! I've never seen Lego inspire such hatred in someone laugh
I don't hate Lego (I have just bought two of the Le Mans race cars that have just been released) I am just not keen on R2D2 as I think it was a dull build.

I only paid (I think) £5.00 for the Trevi as I wanted to build something different.

It isn't my thing when it comes to Lego.

I didn't say you hated Lego generally, but mentions of R2D2 and now the Trevi fountain have incited some pretty deep-rooted negativity laugh

Some sets don't do it for me, but the worst I have felt about them is ambivalent.

Kapitein, O/T but I love that big lamp you've got. Any details on it? Suppose it would be a bit of a needle in a haystack find...

So, found the picture online, worked out what extra bits I needed, and very pleased with the result. The further away you are, the better it gets.

I was thinking of putting together a frame of Star Wars figures and saw this video, any ideas what he used for the shelves? Looks like 6x2 pieces but when he has finished the shelf they are three deep.

Look at 3:04, you can see he has a layer of 6x2 and underneath a 4x2 at one end and a 2x2 at the other with 6x2's inbetween so they are offset for strength and a mix of one wide bricks on top to make it 3 wide.

Managed to get a mini, Lincoln Memorial, Braniac super hero set as well as getting a Lord Business Evil lair as well on Saturday.

Built the Lincoln Memorial already, can't wait to mod it in the future.

Thanks for that.

I was hoping to base it on A New Hope which is my favorite. Where would be the best place to pick up figures? I bought a Luke Skywalker and a Stormtrooper off Amazon both were over £10.

I noticed in Argos that the microfighters series come with a minifigure and are a bit cheaper. So on impulse at the weekend I picked up
Snowspeeder - 75074 £8.99
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2...
AT-AT - 75075 £8.99
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3...

I thought if I get a large frame I can have a couple of rows of Stormtroopers so bought
Imperial Troop Transport - 75078 £11.99 as it came with 4 figures (I know not the original version)

You can buy on bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?itemType=M... is a link to all the starwars minifigs, although there are 680 listed and some are pretty similar variants to others.

Just check, if the figures are new or used when comparing prices and check the terms for postage and minimum buy amounts, It can be better to pay a bit more per figure from one place than pay for 10 lots of postage and handling.

Sellers can be worldwide, so realise it may take longer and cost more to post and may incur customs sent from eg the USA.

A Dark Chrome Darth Vader would be cool as well.
