Piss is boiled for the second time today:

http://thedailybale.wordpress.com/2013/08/16/pub-o...

How about, if any patrons happen to be offended by a squaddie enjoyign a pint there, they go to a different pub? though having said that, this looks to be the usual case of lefty do-gooders taking pre-emptive action because they terminally offended on behalf of everyone else

Um...obvious question, but why are they worried about squaddies upsetting Muslims when their business is one that will have very little (if any) trade from Muslims? I vaguely recall something about Islam and alcohol?

Impressionable reactionary muppet claims to have his urine boiled by unsubstantiated posting on poorly-prepared cheap Wordpress munchkin blog maintained by equally reactionary muppets.

A sad day indeed when the Daily Mail fails to keep the outrage junkies' habits fully supplied, and they have to resort to mainlining cheap ersatz bile.

Actually, the story has been versified (the business has an FB page that apparently says the same thing) and it was linked to me by a friend who used to be a soldier

The picture on the site is referred to as "Christine & Thomas Hamilton". The apparent owners of this pub.

It's actually taken from here; http://www.knutsfordguardian.co.uk/news/9756549.Co...
Angela and John Beaumont in the Oaks in Knutsford.

It's not who they say it is and they're in a different pub, being covered for a different news story. I suspect the stty blog has made the story up out of thin air. Can you link to this 'verification' Facebook page?

I've heard of pubs banning troops entering whilst in uniform, (one of the pubs at Brize Norton, a major airbase, had this rule placed on the front door, but the pub was still the main place for the lads to go) but to ban troops altogether seems rather silly.

Unless they intend to profile people as they come in, looking for the short hair and sidies no lower than the middle of the ear, how do they intend to keep the squaddies out if they pitch up in civvies?

The story is probably total fiction, created by some BNP or similar sympathiser designed to create some tension in the area.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the internet and other media's

On behalf of the management of the Globe I can comprehensively say that the story posted on the Dailybale.wordpress.com is in error or fake.

We have no policy regarding serving British Soldiers, we are also not owned by Christine and Thomas Hamilton.

We would kindly ask you not to post regarding this story.

Can you try and be a little less gullible?

There will come a point where twisted knickers will start to affect fertility.

To put into poetic verse. Neither the story nor Mat's claim that it has been versified is true. The story is made up and in plain prose.

And here's me thinking that most people in the UK would actually want to buy anyone from te Military a pint as a tiny gesture of gratitude for what they do risking their lives for our country.

Not read it fully but to rather have a Muslim than a squad due ? WTF everyone is welcome into a premesis it matters not if they are tee total or a big drinker be they athiest or staunchly religious black white whatever.

I'd hope his regulars start to boycott the pub until this nonsense policy is revoked.

Not interested in the bks nature of the story - just agreeing wholeheartedly with the sentiment in Welshbeef's post. Both to the appreciation of the bravery of the armed services and the desire to have acceptance of everyone into a pub.
