I keep an eye out for the British women like Helen Wyman but thats as far as it goes. CX is like an institution in Northern Europe though, the crowds at the big races are insane...

Not going, but would love to. I know one of the Irish competitors, Glen Kinning, through visiting his bike shop now and again. Be sure (to be sure) to give him a clatter of your cow bell as he passes!

Fifth Astana rider caught in 2014..

http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest-news/ar...

Would the UCI revoke the license from the reigning TdF champion's team?!.. if I were Nibbles I'd buy out my contract now before the next positive test...

It's getting a bit stinky.

This is nothing short of a disaster for Pro Cycling.

Loving the fact that there's a link to an article published yesterday where Nibali is quoted as saying that he has no concerns about the team retaining its license.

The UCI needs to absolutely throw the book at them. Anything less and any new credibility they've got since Cookson took over is dead and buried.

Three of the five one are the Continental team though but its guilt by association, unless Astana can prove beyond doubt that the Iglinsky brothers were doping without any one elses knowledge then I cant see how they can be allowed to compete next year...

So much for that.

I understand they're limited by current rules but surely... SURELY there's some sanction possible to the team itself?

A bit like FIFA they will have to be dragged kicking and screaming until they do the right thing.

Its good to see him deciding to have one last go at Paris-Roubaix. It sounds like he surprised himself with his performance last year, and when he found himself in contention with a few km to go, didn't really have the mindset to take it home (as he has said in interviews his body wasn't the problem).

Hopefully if he goes in actively targeting it he can do even better.

Shouting Wiggo home in the 2012 Tour was the first bit of cycling I properly watched. I'd bloody love for him to make it and on form (in body and mind) he's more than capable of it. But the million-Euro question is ever present: is he on form?

Just got all signed up for the road.cc fantasy cycling, is there a separate thread for it somewhere?

if this guy is determined to achieve something he generally does.
His TT victory last year was evidence of that. If he can steer clear of trouble have a bit of luck then why not.

Som strong teams which is great to see... would have been nice to see Viviani for Sky but I guess as he is a newbie they are taking riders who are a known capacity.

Just seen a vid of Cav being very clear on his thoughts on doping.

Made some good points regarding the sport's desire to change being practically applied through levels of testing etc.

I know that it's a losing battle, especially with some of the 'inconsistencies' that occur, but it's still a lot better than other sports where testing is a massive, massive exception...
