Any idea if you can watch these on-line anywhere Twig? Sounded a great game Spurs v Man City.

I'm sure you can pick them up on illegal internet streams, like firstrowsports, not that I would condone such a thing. And of course they're shown live on the clubs own TV channels, like Chelsea TV etc. And highlights of most games are on youtube after the event.

My son (17) writes these weekly reports for Shoot magazine online. He wants to do sports journalism and this is his first break into the business. Hence my shameless promotion of his work, in the hope that some newspaper or tv mogul might be on PH and see them.

Hope the mods don't mind, not sure why they would.

Our under 21's played a blinder tonight 2-0 down at West Ham, ended up winning 2-3. Holtby scored a cracker according to reports.

30 yard screamer they say

I had a tenner on them, wished i'd backed them at half time though.

Still a nice start for the weekend.

Spuds u/21 should have won the league last year, only a stupid play off system denied them. Looks like they'll be challenging this year too. That's 9 points from 9.

Come back to this thread Tuesday or Weds for my lad's week 3 report.

I'm just going into my second year at uni studying journalism, specifically motoring journalism, but if there's anything I can help with just pm me. Went back into education at 23, now 25 and I love the journalism course, it can be tough though.

Isn't Holtby the chap you dragged to the club early as you needed him. And now his playing for the U21s yikes

I bet his pleased.

Thanks.

He's hoping to get an actual job in the business rather than uni, or failing that, uni at Brighton doing sports journalism.

He played tonight as he'd been injured, here's a picture from the match:

As you can see he looks gutted.

Not unusual for players who have been in the first team to play for then u/21s. Borini is currently turning out for Liverpool u/21s.

Out of interest why is it called U21 Premier League?
Equivalent first teams aren't all Premier League teams.

The 1st team does not have to be in the Premier League for the u/21s to be in the u/21 Premier League. It's a separate league to the actual Premier League. There are various qualifications to meet to be in the u/21 PL, stuff like having your own academy and agreeing to play a certain number of games at the 1st team home stadium.

My son's the expert, he knows all the rules and regs, but he's out this evening.

My lad is on his computer now collating the info. Needs to wait for tomorrow when stuff goes on youtube so he can pick performance of the week, player of the week and talk about some of the best moments.

It's actually a hell of a lot of work that goes into producing the weekly report. I hope people are enjoying it and if any of you have contacts in the upper reaches of journalism or media, please bring it to their attention!!!!

As said, he's only 17, so it's a sterling effort on his part.

Sorry folks, bit of a delay with week 4. Hope to post it asap. No week 5 until a fortnight's time due to international break.
