Went a couple of years back on a stag do. Definitely well worth it, even though we were nearly in the stratosphere by the time we arrived at our seats, and I'm not especially bothered about football.

I saw champions league semi final with Real Madrid.. The most ferocious and intense crowd I have ever seen.
It was a few years ago now, when Figo first moved over and mcmanaman played and scored for Real.

The loudest of any crowd or place I have been. We never made the tour of the ground, but have heard that is good.
Not all games are sold out, or even half full. Typically The seats are owned by season ticket holders and they don't go to all games.

Edit to add:

Blimey, that was 11 years ago....!

Couldn't get 2 seats together in the cheap areas...I say cheap,2 tickets cost 99 euros !

We. Got our tickets, almost 4 together, from the local hotel owners. Those who have a bit of money in the resort areas generally have season tickets.

Worth an ask, rather than touts or box office.

I thought so too, until I went to Bourussia Dortmund. I kid you not, I was deaf for 2 hours after the game. The tickets should come with a health warning.

I did the tour a few years ago whilst the missus of the time went to look at some cathedral or other hehe

its worth the effort and if you get to see a game as well, then even better....

Was there in 2007 when the mighty Liverpool tore them apart 1-2 smile with golfing buddies Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise getting the goals

View from the away area not the best!

Been to the CN twice, once passing through to see Celtic at Valencia, took the tour as there was no game on. Impressive tour, specially as I spent most of the time speaking to a fellow everton fan.
Second time was for a CL league game with Celtic. No segregation, no hassle, plenty of noise (but i am used to European games at celtic Park!) At the end the giant scoreboard showed both club crests and literally "haste ye back"
There is something magic about following your team in Europe, one huge family, one huge party. We used to make a holiday of it, take a week. Glad we weren't in Kazakhstan last night for all that!

I went there for a tour round the place when Terry Venables was manager and Lineker was playing for Barca. Must have been late 80s I would think. Huge concrete monstrosity at that time IIRC.

Went to see them beat Malaga 4-1 last year.
atmosphere was rubbish. Full of tourists hehe

paid €112 for my ticket. Atmosphere at Anfield was 100 times better.

will probably go to see Madrid or BvB next year.

I went a few years ago, was immense. We went on the Friday to do the tour and got tickets then for the Saturday night match. It was just brilliant, we were on the lower tier in line with the goal line rather than the top tier, and the tickets weren't silly money either.

Ronaldinho was doing press stuff on the pitch when we did the tour, so was juggling the ball and the like. Barca won the match 2-0 from memory, both goals in the second half. The place went nuts.

All in all, well worth it!

BvB is a must for any fan. But only against Schalke (hated local rivals) or B. Munich (hated big famous wealthy rivals) for the best atmosphere. For watching football, there's no better stadium anywhere.
