I feel just a little disappointed. Maybe because the gestation was so long, and there were so many rumours. The car was pretty close to my expectations as there had been a fair bit of leakage of info, but it was just a bit less, rather than a bit more than the rumours. Maybe the road tests will be more exciting than the launch.

Intro video is fairly illustrative.

Ah missed that. cheers.

Pretty certain you won't be disappointed with the car anyway when you get it anyway. The RS has always been good.. really good and nothing to suggest this will be any different smile

UK site says under price: Special order only. Please contact a centre. Now obviously everyone knows that numbers will be limited, but are Porsche going to start behaving like Ferrari...?

Some words of wisdom from Evo website

"And if you want one, you’ll need to be quick"

There, your heard it here first. You'll also need to build a time machine to post your LOI circa 1985 and father a son who will one day become an official OPC DP. A bit like the scene in Star Wars where Darth Vadar tells Luke the hidden secret and says he has killed every rebel 918 pilot to boot.

The road testers will say the RS is a game-changer, it will be unrivalled in the market, it will be a super-fast-out-of-this-world experience and will 'move the game on' etc etc

Chris Harris will do some slidey arse-out video, declare it as 'a whole new thing' and the world will hail the new KING GT3!

People who own one will be able to make £60-£80k profit almost immediately and for THAT reason they will say its the 'best' car out there even though the majority of them can't heel-and-toe for st!

"Ooh it changes gear so fast"

"Ooh the sound it makes when you flick the paddle to downshift is delicious.... why does it do that sound anyway?..... never mind I feel like an F1 driver, this car is AWESOME!"

"Ooh look at me lap times youth, ah done reet good on track me, who's ya daddy!"

Blah Blah Blah

For me its all a bit.....meh!

Anybody fancy contacting OPC Stuttgart for a laugh and ask them if they have any available RS build slots ?

I wonder if it will be the same response as the GT4 i.e. when would you like one delivered sir ?

Does make you wonder where the basic GT3 market is now

991 GT3 a bit lack lustre esp at £180k, the new RS is NOW the car.
If they made 500 RS's, then you would have a definite point.

So according to this site, that car will be worth a £100k profit the minute it rolls out of the showroom?

This is going to be an interesting watch over the next 12 months, especially if you have just parted with £170k for a second hand stock version?

Just been told the 918 allocation takes standard allocation away from dealer... ie if the 918s want the car
, there will be none left for normal punters.
Big, big shame..
:-(
Don't think that's quite right. 918 customers have been allocated a car through their 918 OPC, but if they want one can buy it from any dealer. (i.e. not just the dealer they bought the 918 from). it is a 'personal' allocation.

However, if they don't want it at all, it is added to the allocation of their 918 supplier, who can sell it to other customers. So, dealers get a 918 allocation plus a limited non-918 allocation
Yes...but I think the point is that RS allocations were given to 918 buyers as a carrot to shift the 918. So however many 918's were sold on that basis in the UK have reduced the RS's available to "normal" buyers.

I doubt it personally. Would not be surprised if there were a Gen.2 version which would be more differentiated.

I'm glad they still offer the standard buckets as an option as I'm not too sure about the 918 style ones, I'm sure the 918 ones are heavier too
